Polishing & sealing
Porcelain has practically zero porosity and the finish of the material should be retained indefinitely with regular cleaning.
Cleaning
Porcelain is easy to clean. If a recommended cleaner has not been specified, use clean hot soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean soft cloth; non-abrasive neutral pH7 dishwashing detergent is most suitable. Avoid detergents containing hydrofluoric acid, or a detergent with a wax or polishing additive as they can leave on oily film.
Refer to the product manufacturer's guide for further cleaning instructions or removal of any stubborn food residues or surface stains.
Durability
Porcelain is very durable. Avoid hitting with anything blunt or heavy as this can cause chips and cracks especially on exposed areas eg corners, edges. Avoid sitting, standing or placing heavy items on unsupported areas.
Preventing scratching
Porcelain is scratch resistant and everyday household utensils will not mark. High polish surfaces require more care. We recommend the use of a chopping board.
Preventing heat damage
Porcelain is heat resistant and hot temperatures from everyday domestic utensils will not affect the surface. Ensure electric frying pans or pots have rubber or plastic feet to avoid direct metal contact with the surface during & directly after cooking. We recommend the use of a trivet.
Preventing staining
Porcelain should not stain under normal circumstances. To avoid the risk of staining, simply clean immediately.
